![]() After seeing and hearing negative messages over several weeks, Amya Rodriguez and My'Asia Woodfolk-Riley decided to combat negativity with positivity among the classes affected. They did this by writing a number of positive affirmations on sticky notes and posting them on every single desk in 3 different classrooms. We love this positivity, Amya and My'Asia! Keep it up! We are so proud of the Walker 5th Grade Peer Mentors who gave a hearty, warm welcome to 365 fourth graders this week. Peer Mentors applied to be a part of the program, gave up lunch once (or more) each week to train, wrote hand-written letters to each and every 4th grader, and lead the 4th graders on a tour and through ice breakers on Tuesday. We are very proud of their hard work and we are very excited for our newest group of rising 5th graders to start at Walker!
![]() Jayla was our 5th grade Superstar for this week, but she could be our superstar every week! She is an AMAZING example of what a Walker student should strive for. She is a key participator in class, she helps others during group work, and she is full of grit during all assignments. She is kind and giving, and because of that, she is a friend to all. We are so proud of Jayla and all of her accomplishments! |
